Seventh Son of a Seventh Son

Man, you kids need to pay attention.  (ADD perhaps?)  Anyway, once again, I NEVER said anything about anyone's music being bad or anything about what type of music they listened to.  I have no idea what kind of music you guys listen to, nor do I care.  What I said was...EVERYONE HAS A RIGHT TO LISTEN TO WHATEVER THEY PLEASE!!

Music and art are subjective.  The appeal is totally based upon each individual's perception of it. It could be as simple as someone banging a rhythm on a trash can.  If you enjoy the sound, then it's music to you.

The point I am trying to make (and some of you seem to have difficulty understanding) is that there is no such thing as BAD MUSIC.  Every individual has their own personal likes and dislikes and that's what makes it cool.  I don't get into rap, but if the guy beside me at the red light is bouncing a rap song it doesn't give me the right to start bashing him.

Another point that I need to make is that I NEVER claimed to be a musical guru.  I simply stated that unless you actually have the experience to back it up, you shouldn't go around claiming to be some kind of expert.  I enjoy music for what it is, no more...no less.  I don't search the net trying to memorize all the facts or look up obscure bands to make me appear more intelligent.  I simply enjoy the music, regardless of the genre, artist, or TIME PERIOD (which is what the artists intended in the first place.)

Lastly, the reason I said some of these "real rockers" would chew up some of these kids is due to the fact that they've LIVED the life behind the music and it gets a little irritating to them when these internet kids try to come off as so deep and intelligent about the music they created.  It has nothing to do with the genre of music you are into.  It has everything to do with the real world vs the internet world.

Words of advice from the "old lady" of metal:
*Enjoy what's been made available to you.
*Don't worry about what the guy down the street (or on another site) is listening to.
*Put some sunglasses on and creep outside--there's a big wide world out there!!

Can I Play With Madness

Give me the sense to wonder
To wonder if I'm free
Give me a sense of wonder
To know I can be me
Give me the strength to hold my head up
Spit back in their face
Don't need no key to unlock this door
Gonna break down the walls
Break out of this bad place

Can I play with madness - the prophet stared at his crystal ball
Can I play with madness - there's no vision there at all
Can I play with madness - the prophet looked and he laughed at me
Can I play with madness - he said you're blind too blind to see

I screamed aloud to the old man
I said don't lie don't say you don't know
I say you'll pay for your mischief
In this world or the next
Oh and then he fixed me with a freezing glance
And the hell fires raged in his eyes
He said do you want to know the truth son
- I'll tell you the truth
Your soul's gonna burn in the lake of fire

Can I play with madness - the prophet stared at his crystal ball
Can I play with madness - there's no vision there at all
Can I play with madness - the prophet looked and he laughed at me
Can I play with madness - he said you're blind too blind to see

Can I play with madness - the prophet stared at his crystal ball
Can I play with madness - there's no vision there at all
Can I play with madness - the prophet looked and he laughed at me
Can I play with madness - he said you're blind too blind to see

Best Of: Living After Midnight

As my vacation nears its end, I suppose I'll update this thing.

Everybody has pet peeves. One of mine is kids that go around acting like they're some sort of music expert. Give me a break! All they really know is information they've read on the net or in some magazine.

When I was growing up, we didn't have instant access to band info or free music downloads. We actually had bands that toured; we bought their albums and went to their concerts. It was the real deal. We also didn't waste time debating over which band was the best, etc. Everyone just did their own thing, enjoyed it, and didn't worry about what the kid next door was listening to.

Face it kids, with today's technology, anybody can record a CD and make it sound decent. The real test is how well they can perform live. No, I mean a "live" performance, not using pre-recorded crap to make it sound better.

Is it any wonder that so many bands are reuniting and touring again? I mean somebody has to show these kids how it's really done!

In other words, unless you're 30+ yrs. old. Don't go around acting like some music guru. You're just repeating crap you learned on the web and you have very little, if any, first hand experience.

JUST REMEMBER:

It's music, enjoy it for the way it makes you feel when you listen to it.

Everyone is entitled to their own taste in music. (One man's rap is another man's crap.) Besides, if we all listened to the same music, that would be extremely boring!!

It's not important to memorize every detail about the band, the song, etc. In fact, that's a little scary. If you're one of these geeks, you've got way too much time on your hands! STEP AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER...AND GET A LIFE!

One last thing- Cheer up Emo kids, you have no idea how tough life really is. (By the way, Bluegrass is the original emo. Think about it.)

YOU'VE GOT ANOTHER THING COMIN'

One life I’m gonna live it up
I’m takin’ flight I said I’ll never get enough
Stand tall I’m young and kinda proud
I’m on top as long as the music’s loud

If you think I’ll sit around as the world goes by
You’re thinkin’ like a fool cause it’s a case of do or die
Out there is a fortune waitin’ to be had
You think I’ll let it go you’re mad
You’ve got another thing comin’

That’s right here’s where the talkin’ ends
Well listen this night there’ll be some action spent
Drive hard I’m callin’ all the shots
I got an ace card comin’ down on the rocks

If you think I’ll sit around while you chip away my brain
Listen I ain’t foolin’ and you’d better think again
Out there is a fortune waitin’ to be had
You think I’ll let it go you’re mad
You got another thing comin

In this world we’re livin’ in we have our share of sorrow
Answer now is don’t give in aim for a new tomorrow

Oh so hot no time to take a rest yeah
Act tough ain’t room for second best
Real strong got me some security
Hey I’m a big smash I’m goin’ for infinity yeah

If you think I’ll sit around as the world goes by
You’re thinkin’ like a fool cause it’s a case of do or die
Out there is a fortune waitin’ to be had
You think I’ll let it go you’re mad
You’ve got another thing comin’

Long time, no entry.  Well Valentines day is almost here, so I thought I would update with a message for my Sweetie:

You might think I'm crazy
To hang around with you
Maybe you think I'm lucky
To have something to do
But I think that you're wild
And inside me is some child
You might think it's foolish
Or maybe it's untrue
You might think I'm crazy
But all I want is you
You might think it's hysterical
But I know when you're weak
You think you're in the movies
And everything's so deep
But I think that you're wild
When you flash that fragile smile
You might think it's foolish
Or maybe it's untrue
You might think I'm crazy
But all I want is you
And it's hard so hard to take
There's no escape without a scrape
You kept it going till the sun fell down
You kept it going
You might think I'm delirious
The way I run you down
But somewhere sometime
When you're curious
I'll be back around
And I think that you're wild
And so uniquely styled
You might think it's foolish
Or maybe it's untrue
You might think I'm crazy
But all I want is you

You know I've seen a lot of what the world can do
And it's breaking my heart in two
Because I never wanna see you a sad girl
Don't be a bad girl

But if you wanna leave, take good care
I hope you make a lot of nice friends out there
But just remember there's a lot of bad and beware

Oh, baby, baby, it's a wild world
It's hard to get by just upon a smile
Oh, baby, baby, it's a wild world
I'll always remember you like a child, girl

I guess I just had too much fun on Friday & Saturday, because I just couldn't seem to get back out on Sunday night.  However, we did have some Halloween events.  Tori called me from work to tell me that a guy with a Michael Myers mask had come in wanting to return it, saying it was ripped or something.  When they told him they didn't refund or exchange anything (there are signs everywhere), he started cussing and threatening the employees.  He even called back twice and told them they better watch their backs.  The cops were called and when they arrived, they said they had already been called to K-Mart and Wal-Mart about the same guy.  What a wierdo.  I told Tori it was pretty ironic though, I mean "Michael Myers" comes into the Halloween store on Halloween and threatens to kill them.  Ha, ha.

If that wasn't enough excitement, Tori, Lu, and I were sitting in the living room watching some Halloween movies when we heard all this tire screeching and possibly a crash.  I called Rodney's phone, because he was at our neighbors to see if he knew who did it and he said it was the boy who always tries to talk to Nessa.  Nessa has been very blunt in telling this guy that she is not interested, but he just doesn't seem to get it.  Anyway, he was apparently upset because they told him she wasn't home and he tried to race off down the road and crashed into a telephone pole.  Tori, Lu, and I walked down close enough to see if he was hurt.  There were several police cars there so we could see pretty good from all the lights.  We saw him walking around, so I guess he was okay.  Let's just hope it knocked some sense into him.  The really funny thing was that Nessa really wasn't at home, so he caused all this drama and didn't even have his intended audience.

Oh well , let's enjoy some pictures of Bruce.  Hail to the King baby!
